Looks like Monrtreux will be seeing some nice weather for the next week. The high temperatures on Monday melted quite a bit of snow and ice off the streets. There are still areas in Montreux that remain icy, so please drive with CAUTION.

Montreux has received a generous amount of snow last night. There is still a winter storm warning for Northern Nevada until 4PM today. The weather service calls for 8 to 14 inches of snow in the valley. With greater amounts as the altitude increases.

Montreux is presently encountering winter storm conditions with heavy snow, limited visibility, and strong gusting winds. Plows and snow removal equipment have been employed since midnight; conversely, the rate of snowfall is substantially faster than the rate of plowing. Chains/snow-tires required on Mt. Rose Highway (SR341). It is advised to travel outside Montreux property only if absolutely necessary. Use extreme CAUTION and observe posted speeds. Snow likely, mainly after 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 40. Windy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to between 25 and 30 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.
