Homicide Investigation Update

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into the apparent murder of Albert Musalo, 75 years old from Reno and his wife Joan Musalo, 75 years old from Reno. Both victims were apparently shot inside their home sometime between Monday afternoon and yesterday evening. The investigation has determined that there were items taken from the residence. However, there were no visible signs of forced entry.

The initial emergency call was received at 7:21 p.m. Tuesday evening and was a request to respond to the home of an elderly couple living at 5955 Lake Geneva Drive in the gated community of Montreux. Sheriff’s Office patrol units were met at the scene by the adult daughter of the victims who reported that she had found the two deceased in their home. The daughter had become concerned about her parents when she had been unable to contact them for several days.

At this time, there is no further information available for release to the public and detectives have not identified a suspect or suspects in this case. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact Detectives at 328-3320 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
