Montrêux Maintains Record of Tight Security

As a follow up to the article in the Reno Gazette Journal on Friday, March 31, regarding the Washoe County Sheriff Department’s comment about responding “regularly” to prowlers in the Montrêux and Galena area, Montrêux management researched security records and found that only five occurrences of suspicious noise have been reported since January 2005. Montrêux security responded within minutes to each member’s concern and in each case Montreux security found nothing. There is no evidence of a prowler ever being found in the Gated Community of Montreux.

Montrêux management feels that the comments made by Deputy Michelle Youngs were reported in a misleading manner in the Reno Gazette Journal article. After discussing this matter with Deputy Youngs Friday morning, it was made clear that the comments she made were not addressing Montrêux specifically but were referring to the entire Galena area, which includes several communities in that geographical location.

Deputy Youngs could not confirm one way or the other any specific response calls made by the Washoe County Sheriff Department to addresses located within the gated Montrêux community.

Furthermore, much of the information in the newspaper article was received from an online community newsletter for the Galena Forest Saint James Village Community Web Site: >www.galenareno.com
